A Bay District teacher was charged with child abuse Thursday.
As News 13 first told you last week, Amanda Austin, 45, a pre-k ESE teacher at Waller Elementary school allegedly locked a four-year-old special needs student in a closet and taped his shoes to his feet causing bruising.
District officials confirmed last week that Austin no longer works for the district. News 13 reached out to Austin last week but she declined to comment.
We will have more on this story tonight at 6 and 10.
