Bay District Schools: Some Walkout Students Given Tardy Slips

BAY COUNTY, Fla. - Bay County students took part in the national school walkout on Wednesday. Their classroom exit did however mean getting written up for leaving without permission. Bay District Schools officials said when appropriate, the students who took part in the walked out were disciplined by being marked for an unexcused tardy. School officials said given the bell schedule, most students were late for third period and teachers were flexible with those who were just a minute or two late.
