Bay County Students Will Stay Indoors During the Eclipse

BAY COUNTY, FLA. - One week from today the highly anticipated solar eclipse will be making its way across the United States.
The event will effect students to some degree during their day at school.

Bay District School's superintendent Bill Husfelt announced today that from 12:07 PM to 3:05 PM, there will be no outdoor activities since that is the projected time frame of the eclipse crossing Bay County.

Students will remain safe inside by viewing the eclipse online through a NASA live stream.

Parents are urged to talk with their children about not looking directly at the sun.

General safety information about the eclipse taken from the NASA website will be sent home with students this week.

Only elementary school students will be excused for early checkout that day.
