Bay County Not Expecting to Close Bridges

News 13 Meteorologists and the National Hurricane Center remain confident that the landfall of Hurricane Nate will occur near the Mississippi/Louisiana border.

The Bay County Emergency Operations Center continues to monitor Hurricane Nate and will declare a local State of Emergency if necessary. Additionally, no shelters have opened and the Bay County Emergency Operations center does not anticipate a need to do so.

According to an AlertBay bulletin, no bridge closures are expected by Bay County Emergency Operations for the duration of this event.

It is important to remember that while there may be tropical storm strength gusts, the wind must be sustained to force a bridge closure.
