PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - A Bay County employee was seriously injured Wednesday morning in a traffic accident, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
James Vinson, 43, of Panama City was working on Thomas Drive when a motorist accidentally struck him. Troopers said they believe the motorist suffered a possible seizure and was unable to merge to the other lane in time.
Lt. Eddie Elmore, of the Florida Highway Patrol says with all the construction in our area drivers need to be aware and paying attention while driving.
" There's a lot of construction in the area, just be aware that some traffic patterns may change temporarily. Just be cognizant of that and pay attention to your surroundings."
Vinson was rushed to a local hospital where he was in serious but stable condition Wednesday night.
