Authorities Investigating Armed Robbery at Marianna Liquor Store

MARIANNA, Fla. - The search continues for two suspects responsible for an armed robbery at a Marianna liquor store last Thursday.

"Scary moment," described the clerk.

The store clerk, who asked News 13 not to show her face or disclose her name, is still shaken by what happened to her last Thursday night.

She was working at Big Star Liquors on the corner of Penn Avenue and Highway 90 when two men barged in about 10:45 p.m. and demanded cash.

"Give me the money, give me the money, and I give money after. He said, 'more, more,' so I give whole drawer," she explained.

Police released still pictures taken from surveillance video.

Based on the video, authorities described the two robbers as black men.

Both robbers covered their faces, but their eyes were still exposed.

Marianna police say the two suspects in the surveillance video entered the front door.

One was armed with a pump-style shotgun, another had a plastic bag.

"One guy standing over here, and behind him he got a gun and point at me," the clerk said.

Then, she said the stick-up ended almost as quickly as it started.

"Within two minutes they left," she said.

Police say the pair ran behind the liquor store heading South.

The one holding the plastic bag is about 5 ft. 9 inches tall, and was wearing grey basketball shoes, light colored shorts - possibly jean shorts, and a black long-sleeve shirt.

The suspect holding the shotgun is described as approximately 5 ft. 7 inches tall, and was wearing black shoes, black pants with a white dot pattern, and a black long-sleeve shirt missing one sleeve.

The clerk said she wants closure.

"I hope they gonna catch - and put them in jail."

The K-9 teams from Apalachee Correctional Institution, Jackson Correctional Institution, and Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies joined the search.

Police urge anyone with information to call Chipola Crimestoppers at 850-526-5000.
