LYNN HAVEN, Fla. - Music and laughter could be heard all the way down Florida Avenue in Lynn Haven on Saturday. The city held it's annual block party, bringing people together from across the county.
The event was held between 7th and 9th Streets and went from 4 to 9pm.
There was fun for the whole family. Live music by Legacy and Reasonable Doubt had everyone dancing, along with DJ Cheri. For the kids, there were pony rides, train rides, inflatables, and face painting. There were a variety of vendors, selling items such as clothing, jewelry, and paintings. The event also offered an assortment of food and beverages.
While all of these things contributed to a great event, though. Lynn Haven Special Event Coordinator Tracy Johnson says it's the community coming together that makes the event so special.
"It's a lot of neighbors running into one another, old classmates. It's friends. It's, 'I haven't see you in forever!' And that's my very favorite thing about these types of events," said Johnson.
The block party is held once a year, but Johnson said that they are looking to add more to the calendar.
