PANAMA CITY, Fla. - A Wetumpka, Alabama man faces 51 years in prison after he was convicted earlier this week of child abuse.
Scott Hicks was found guilty of aggravated child abuse, neglect of a child causing great bodily harm, leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle causing great bodily harm and culpable negligence exposing another to injury.
In September of last year bailiffs at the Bay County Courthouse arrested Hicks after they found a child he had left in his vehicle unattended.
The 4-year-old was seriously dehydrated and had multiple bruises on his body, with an open wound to his head and severe injury to his groin.
Hicks will be held without bond until he is sentenced on December 2.
