CALLAWAY, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a wreck which involved three vehicles and two pedestrians. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Friday on Old Bicycle Road near Seamens Lane in Callaway.
Robert Downing, 43, of Donalsonville, Georgia was backing up a freight truck improperly on the road when a Honda Civic driven by Steven Abner, 39, of Youngstown crashed into the truck, according to the crash report.
Troopers said Abner didn't see the truck because it didn't have any lights on.
While pedestrians Taylor Johnson, 22, of Panama City and Nicole Kolbe, 27, of Navarre were helping Abner following the initial crash, a Ford F-150 truck driven by Jack Bright, 71, of Panama City hit the women then the back of the Civic.
No one involved in the wreck sustained any major injuries but several people were treated at Bay Medical Sacred Heart for minor injuries.
Troopers cited Downing for improper backing and driving without light. They cited Bright for careless driving.
