Kelsey Peck first joined the News 13 team as a general assignment reporter in June 2012. She was excited to land her first job at WMBB after graduating the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Science degree in Telecommunications. She began working as our "rural reporter," primarily covering Jackson, Calhoun, and Washington counties. It wasn't uncommon to see her in cowboy boots in the newsroom.
In 2014, she swapped her boots for heels and was promoted to co-anchor the morning and midday show. In addition to anchoring, Kelsey produces two weekly segments, one on trending health topics, and another featuring the Panhandle's first responders, called Honor the Badge.Kelsey is a fourth-generation Floridian originally from Stuart, Florida. At the age of 10, she fell in love with her dad's video camera from the 90's igniting her passion for news and story-telling.
When she's not at work, you can find her spending time with her husband and her two fur-children. They love watching the beautiful Panhandle sunsets, working on a house project, or going for a motorcycle ride.Feel free to send Kelsey an email with any story ideas or nominations for her weekly Honor the Badge segment at firstname.lastname@example.org.
